Who We Are

Welcome to J5

Founded in 1995 by Archbishop Dr. Andby Makururu, Johane Masowe the 5th of Africa International Church is one of the fastest-growing indigenous Apostolic ministries in Africa. Rooted in the rich spiritual lineage of the Johane Masowe movement, the church has evolved into a global evangelical force with over 3.3 million followers worldwide.

Headquartered at the sacred Mt. Esinai Matangi (Hospital Hill) in Mutare, Zimbabwe, our ministry bridges deep, scriptural prophetic guidance with forward-thinking modernisation, formal corporate citizenship, and aggressive regional development.

J5 breaks the mould of traditional white-garment (Vapositori) churches. We are a legally registered Corporate Body that secures land, builds physical structures, owns fixed assets, and engages transparently with public and legal institutions.

Our Founder & Leader

He was awarded an earned Doctor of Christian Leadership and Management by Lagos University in recognition of his profound contributions to community development and ecclesial management.

Archbishop Makururu travels extensively throughout SADC countries, conducting major diplomatic and spiritual round-up tours in Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia. He teaches that spiritual alignment must translate into hard work, national pride, and economic emancipation for Black people.
