Founded 1995 · Mutare, Zimbabwe · SADC & Beyond
"Serving Africa. Transforming Nations. Honouring God."
An indigenous Apostolic movement carrying the Gospel to every corner of the continent — one community at a time.
A Movement Rooted in Africa
Founded in 1995 by Archbishop Dr. Andby Makururu, Johane the 5th of Africa International Church is rooted in the rich spiritual lineage of the Johane Masowe movement. With over 3.3 million followers worldwide, this ministry has evolved into a global evangelical force bridging prophetic faith with modernisation and community development.
Headquartered at the sacred Mt. Esinai Matangi (Hospital Hill) in Mutare, Zimbabwe, J5 stands apart — a legally incorporated body that builds physical infrastructure, secures land, and serves communities transparently across the SADC region.
Our Full StoryOur Foundation
Three pillars define life in J5 — a framework for how we live, serve, and carry Africa forward.
Archbishop Makururu teaches that national leadership, peace, and prosperity all flow from God's order. We advocate for unity, patriotism, and cross-border cooperation across Africa.
"A peaceful nation is the only fertile ground for economic prosperity."
J5 honours every person from life to rest. The church mandates financial planning — including funeral policies and life insurance — so families are never left to face crisis without support.
Through the Ruvheneko Rwenyeredzi Trust, J5 fights child marriages, empowers women through vocational training, and redirects youth toward education and faith.
